Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 30, 2026
Attunement is operated by "Attunement, Inc.," a Delaware corporation] ("Attunement," "we," "us," or "our").
1. Overview
Attunement is a parenting toolkit that helps parents and caregivers with tools such as AI-generated bedtime stories, meal planning, potty training tracking, growth milestone tracking, tantrum and behavior coaching, a symptom checker, city guides for family activities, and related features (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you.
This Policy applies to the Attunement website and application located at getattunement.com and any associated mobile or web application (together, the "Service"). It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control, even if linked from the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, password (or authentication token if you sign in via a third-party service such as Google — see Section 3), and profile details.
- Child profile information: if you use features such as Add Children, Manage Children, Growth Milestone Tracker, or Potty Training Tracker, you may provide information about your child, including first name, date of birth or age, developmental milestones, and progress notes. This information is provided by you, the account holder, about your child — your child does not create an account or submit this information directly. See Section 7 for how we treat this data.
- Health-adjacent information you choose to enter: features such as the Symptom Checker, Lactation Calendar, and Baby Maker Tracker may involve you entering symptoms, dates, or other health-related notes about yourself or your child. This information is used solely to power the specific tool you're using and is treated with the heightened care described in Sections 5 and 9.
- Content you generate: inputs you provide to generate bedtime stories or other AI-assisted content (such as a child's name, interests, or story themes), and the resulting generated content.
- Communications: messages you send us through Contact Us, support requests, or survey responses.
- Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid tier, our payment processor collects your payment card details directly; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages and features accessed, timestamps, session duration, and interactions with the Service.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Session recordings: we may use session-replay technology to record how you interact with the Service (page views, clicks, and similar interface events) in order to diagnose bugs and improve usability. Password fields and email address text are automatically masked before recording, and you can request that a specific session not be recorded by contacting us. We do not use session recordings to build advertising profiles.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 8.
2.3 Information from third parties
If you choose to connect a third-party account (such as Google, described in Section 3), we receive the profile and calendar information described there, limited to what you authorize.
3. Google Sign-In and Google Calendar
Attunement offers two optional integrations with your Google Account: signing in with Google, and connecting your Google Calendar so Attunement can create calendar events on your behalf (for example, potty training reminders, milestone check-ins, or other scheduled items you set up in the app). Both are optional — you can use Attunement without connecting either.
3.1 Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google Account, which we use to create and authenticate your Attunement account. We do not receive your Google password.
3.2 Google Calendar access
If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we request the following Google OAuth scope(s):
| Scope | What it allows | Why we request it |
|---|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events | View and edit events on your Google calendars | To automatically create calendar events for reminders and schedules you set up inside Attunement (for example, a potty training check-in or a bedtime routine reminder) |
We do not access, read, or use any Google Calendar data beyond what is necessary to provide the specific scheduling features described above. We do not read the content of unrelated personal or work calendar entries, and we do not use your calendar data for any purpose other than the feature you activated it for.
Google API Limited Use Disclosure. Attunement's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We do not use Google Calendar data to serve advertisements, including retargeted or interest-based advertising.
- We do not sell or transfer Google Calendar data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or information resellers.
- We do not use Google Calendar data to determine creditworthiness or for any lending purpose.
- We do not permit employees or contractors to read your Google Calendar data, except where necessary to investigate a security incident, comply with law, or respond to a support request you have specifically authorized.
3.3 Retention of Google account data and tokens
We retain your Google OAuth access and refresh tokens for as long as your Google Sign-In or Google Calendar connection remains active. If you disconnect Google Calendar, delete your Attunement account, or revoke access through Google directly, we will delete the associated access and refresh tokens within [30 days] and will programmatically revoke our application's access to your Google Account. Calendar event data that Attunement has read (where applicable) is not stored beyond what is needed to perform the immediate action requested and is not retained in our systems afterward.
3.4 Revoking access
You may disconnect Attunement's access to your Google Calendar at any time in either of two ways:
- Within Attunement, under Account Settings; or
- Directly through Google, at myaccount.google.com/permissions, where you can review and remove access for any third-party application connected to your Google Account.
Revoking access does not delete calendar events that Attunement has already created; those events remain on your calendar until you delete them yourself. Revoking access also does not automatically delete other Attunement account data — for that, see Section 10.3.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service and its individual tools (bedtime stories, trackers, guides, reminders, and the Google Calendar integration described in Section 3);
- To personalize content, such as tailoring a generated bedtime story or milestone suggestions to the child profile you've entered;
- To communicate with you about your account, respond to support requests, and send service-related notices;
- With your separate opt-in consent, to send product updates or marketing communications, which you may opt out of at any time (see Notification Preferences);
- To monitor, debug, and improve the performance, reliability, and usability of the Service;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use the content of your child's profile, health-adjacent entries, or Google Calendar data to serve advertising, and we do not sell this information. See Section 5 for our full sharing practices.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the Service. Specific retention periods:
- Account and profile data: retained until you delete your account, plus [30 days] for backup purge cycles.
- Child profile and tracker data (growth, potty training, etc.): retained until you delete the specific record or your account, whichever is sooner.
- Google OAuth tokens and Calendar-derived data: as described in Section 3.3.
- Session recordings: automatically deleted after [90 days].
- Payment records: retained as required by tax and accounting law, typically [7 years], held by our payment processor rather than Attunement directly where possible.
7. Children's Privacy
Attunement is directed at parents and caregivers, not at children. Our account holders must be adults. Where you enter information about your child (name, age, developmental notes, health-adjacent entries), that information is submitted by you as the parent or caregiver — your child does not register for an account, does not interact with Google Sign-In or Google Calendar, and does not submit information to us directly.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we become aware that a child has created an account directly or submitted information to us other than through a parent's account, we will delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, contact us at the address in Section 13.
Because child profile data can be sensitive, we apply the same security and access controls described in Section 9 to this category of data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles targeted at children or otherwise.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting who within our organization can view sensitive data categories (including child profile and Google Calendar data), and routine security review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights and Choices
10.1 All users
- Access and update most account and profile information directly within Account Settings.
- Manage marketing communications through Notification Preferences.
- Disconnect Google Sign-In or Google Calendar as described in Section 3.4.
10.2 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of that information, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share Google Calendar or child profile data for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13; we will verify your request and respond within the time required by law.
10.3 Requesting deletion
You may request deletion of any personal information we hold about you, including data obtained through Google Sign-In or Google Calendar, by contacting us at [privacy@getattunement.com]. We will verify your identity, process deletion requests within [30 days], and confirm completion by email. Deletion includes removal of stored access/refresh tokens, any cached Google Calendar data, child profile entries, and account records, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate fraud-prevention purposes, which we will identify to you specifically if applicable.
10.4 Other jurisdictions
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law (for example, other U.S. state privacy laws or, for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, rights under GDPR-equivalent frameworks). Contact us and we will address your request under the law that applies to you.
11. International Users
Attunement is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — including any change to how we use Google user data beyond what is disclosed in Section 3 — we will notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice) and, where required, obtain your renewed consent before the change takes effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
